A Red, Green and Pewter Holiday Table

It’s only once a year that we can break out the red and green check table linens, and adorn our table with a pewter-heavy setting – so we look forward to it with a sense of eagerness and enthusiasm reserved just for the occasion. The holidays are such a joyous time of year – spirits are lifted, there’s a special mood in the air, and decorations abound wherever you go.

We recently hosted a four-course holiday themed dinner, complete with the gorgeous red, green and pewter table you see below. We raided the Didriks store, and put together a stunning table with some of our favorite holiday pieces. We took dinnerware pieces from the Match Pewter Viviana collection, and used a variety of Match stemware and other table accents to finish the table. We also used festive Libeco Home linens to dress up the table even more.

Instead of using a more traditional tablecloth, we opted for this Libeco Home St. Giles Linen Tablerunner. The red and green check pattern, paired with the vibrant red chairs and Libeco Home Vence Linen Napkins in Cherry made the table really pop. It had a distinct Christmas feel, without being kitschy or too over the top.

The individual place settings featured three pieces of dinnerware from the Match Pewter Viviana collection, which is made with a stunning combination of porcelain and pewter. The white against the tarnished silver hue of pewter makes this dinnerware entirely unique, and fitting for any table.

Each setting included a dinner plate, a salad/dessert plate (not pictured here), and a soup/pasta bowl. The flatware came from another Match collection called Daniela, and featured four pieces of the five-piece setting – the salad fork, dinner fork, dinner knife and soup spoon.

In the very center of the table stood this Match Pewter Three Flame Candelabra, which made for a stunning and functional centerpiece. We used it with white candles to contrast the vibrant colors of the table runner and napkins.

The candelabra was flanked on both sides by Match Pewter PO Candlesticks, which added even more ambiance to the table. The candlesticks and the candelabra added a bit of elegance and flair, which was a nice touch.

The crystal glassware also came from Match, and featured (from left) a champagne glass, a water glass and a balloon wine glass. These stunning glasses have pewter stems and crystal tops, which gives them a really unique and different feel compared to more traditional glass stemware.

This was a cheery table for a truly festive evening! The meal was outstanding as well, we’ll be sharing recipes and more from the dinner very soon. Until then, Happy Holidays!
